Ebay downpipe

Anyone have one of these downpipes from ebay? My buddy is looking for a cheap downpipe and hes thinking about getting one.. Thanks

do a quick search on "ebay downpipe" and you'll see the threads. I dont trust eBay sellers when it comes to DSM specific mods, especially if it's an exhaust piece. too many things can go wrong [ i.e, fitment, shitty welds, shitty material .

on a brighter note i think megan racing has received positive reviews from DSMers

yeah i woundt trust ebay i bought a 3"megan racing DP for my 98 GSX and it didnt fit on punishmnet o2 dump f*ck ebay and MR and PR they all suck!!!

i have heard GREAT things about megan racing DPs, infact thats the ONLY dp ill trust when i upgrade, however the ebay dp you linked looks like it bottle necks down before and after the flex pipe and right before the end... dont go with ebay... buy a megan racing dp, new or used... if ur trying to save money

I am not disagreeing, but its wierd that my MR Dp doesnt fit PR 02 dump and so mnay people have it done unless w/ my luck i got a defect, i mean it didn't fit at all i had to make a whole new peice for the Dp

A friend of mine that's also on this board has a Megan racing downpipe from ebay and it fits and works great. Maybe it's your punishment o2

I don't think it looks too bad. I would give it a try for 75 bucks. I would blame the punishment o2. I have one and it's a real piece. I have never welded or done any metal work and I swear I could do a better job making one in thirty minutes.

Wow, that's a bold statement considering the veteran manufacturers that are in this market who have been producing downpipes and other exhaust components for more almost 10 years now.

Not saying Megan products aren't worth the money, just surprised that you wouldn't trust anything but those.

On the ebay front - just keep in mind, you almost always get what you pay for when it comes to auto parts. If it's too good to be true it usually is. If it's much cheaper than the market leader's part, it's 'probably' not as good. Sure, you might come across a good deal every now and then, but you take a risk.

i agree 100% its probaly punsh o2 dump what a pile that was, i will be calling them up,, the place that installed my whole exhaust setup(pruven performance) said that their is no way that was tig welded... casue i dont anything about welding and which is which, but now i know i paid for tig $215 and got mig, now what is the downside of mig will it eventually like fall off or somen? and i heard i am not the only one who paid for tig and got mig so i guess we cant trust PR anymore

On another note, people mention the "get what you pay for" thing. I bought my Megan downpipe before my friend bought his welder (or else I would have made my own) for a lot cheaper than any vendor has any downpipe (mandrel, press-bent, 3 or 2.5", etc.,) and it's the biggest downpipe you're going to get on a stock 2G O2 housing. It tapers from (somewhere near) 2 7/8" to 3" - none of that 2.5" bullshit , it's stainless steel, and came with everything needed to install.

I also have the MR downpipe. Got it from an ebay store for like 100 shipped. Its a quality piece for an unreal price. You cant beat it. There is nothing wrong with it at all and it fit like a glove. Top notch peice for a too good to be true price.

Meghan Racing products are pretty good in my opinion. I have the 3" DP and I love it. Took 45mins for install and that was because the stock bolts were rusted all to hell and was out of PB blaster. Came with new gaskets and more bolts, washers and nuts then I needed. Check out there website....even if its from an e-bay seller, they still guarentee all their products.
