Ebay Boost Controllers?

Will these cheap homemade boost controllers work ok if im just wanting to run a little more boost? Or should i go with the $75 Turbo XS boost controller, Do you get what you pay for with Boost controllers? Im not wanting like the Profec B or anything electrical just something that works.----Tony

It will work how long hmmmm.... dunno I have seen the ball bearings get flat spots the springs get worn out its just hard to say. I'm running a PSi adjuster for an air compressor cost 20 bucks have had it for 4yrs on 3 different cars. On another hand I have seen a Turbo Xs MBC leak like crazy after 3 mos. Just hard to say sometimes you get what you pay for and other times a deal is too good to pass up!

i been running one of them cheapos on my T25 , well was T25 dead but thats a different story. The MBC worked but i was getting nsaty boost spike 20+ on a stocker t25 , yeah ummm i wonder how my turbo went , well the 160K + miles didnt help either. Well to answer you it seemed to work ok except the spike but i didnt have anything done yet to help that. For example 02 dump supporting mods like this. I am upgrading turbo and will try it again and let you know or you can get one from joep MBC not sure of the site search for it , their like 45.00 and i hear their great. I might try it myself anyway. Good luck

Proboost is a fine company.

The 3000GT/Stealth guys on www.3si.org run those boost controllers. Some of them are in the 12s and 11s with it and had no problems. In fact, he has like 99% positive feedback. You should be fine to run it.

yeah i can agree even though he has alot of sells , all the negatives are the same , late and poor . Thats not a good sign

I use one of these. I've had mine for the pass year and a half and it worked like a champ. No boost spikes here.

Better flowing exhaust like the one you have will cause boost spikes. So you can't just blame it on the MBC, and if it kept spiking why did you keep it on?
