im trying to install a oil catch can and im going to take the pcv valve off (im pretty sure its broken) and then put the catch can in its place. i know i have to hook one end of the catch can to where that valve was and the other end to the manifold but i dont understand what i do with the other end that the pcv valve went to?

The pcv valve may not be functioning properly but it is also a metering device. I would replace the pcv with an oem one. A catch can should be put inline between the pcv and the manifold if you are keeping the stock configuration, which isnt a bad idea. Also in this configuration you dont want a vented catch can which it looks like you have in this picture. I would scroll through this thread: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/229338-stupid-pcv-question.html?highlight=stupid+pcv

The absolute best catch can setup IMHO - and many others.
