Easy front air dam

I found this in my tire shed at work. I think it's off a Ford superduty. Funny enough every bolt hole lines up with the factory bolts on the 92 talon bumper reinforcement. Car feels more planted in the front end. I only had to drill 2 holes for the corners to bolt up. Took 15mins to put on.

Interesting. I'm not much of an aero guy but I would reckon wind noise would have drastically increased. Did you notice any such effects? Also is that actual hard molded plastic, or is it flexible like the bumpers for example?

That car's got some ground clearance. I'd have to chop a few inches off that thing for it to fit on my car. Assuming I'd even want that on my car...

Sure dose it's got some soft springs in it most likely all stock it rides really soft actually more like a Cadillac then a sports car. With the sway bars it still corners pretty well not too much body roll

Easy enough to cut it down to size with a cut off disk to make it less aggressive. Honestly the only 2 holes I had to drill are in the corners to pull it in tight to the bumper. All the other holes lined up perfectly with the talons metal bumper bracing.

It's a flexible plastic used on any OEM truck air dam I'm pretty sure this is off a Ford superduty. With any tuner exhaust wind noise is no problem. my engines way louder I cant hear much noise unless I roll a window down. I think its adding quite a bit of down force or at least cutting out most of the air under the car like they do in nascar.

I'll be pre plowing the roads till the snow plows come out ha ha! I'll probably pop it off when the actual snow hits. It comes off in about 5 minutes. Seriously it has the exact same bolt pattern as the talons metal bumper brace on the bottom. It just bolts on so easy.

For those that have a front mount that blocks air, I have found a set up similar to this to be very effective.
Just giving different idea's. These are the 1st pictures of it. Been running it since startup a month or so ago. Comes from the stock ducting. Running 186 to 193.

Well having a front air dam looks cool but boy what a killer in fuel milage. I went from 300km on half a tank to burning a whole tank in under 500km. I trimmed off about 2 inches to stop it bottoming out everywhere and I picked up a bit more fuel milage but I still used just about 1/4 more fuel to drive the same distance as having no air dam. Hmmm race car parts not food for fuel economy go figure. I might trim it a bit smaller one more time before scrapping it for the highway fuel milage my car needs. I live in the BC Rockies and 99% my cars just cruising along at highway speed with the tunes on. My town has 2 traffic lights not much need for aero downforce to be a commuter car from town to city.

I just fabbed mine up to keep the engine temps down, and it has worked very well. Seldom ever do I get over 196* F, if it does, the twin SPAL fans pull it right down to 185*. The 1st airdam I made was pretty tall also, so this one I made with only about 3" of "scoop" right under the radiator support.
I like all new idea's and yours is no different!

Right on maybe I can take u for a blast I got it running 15 psi and I'm just running out of fuel injector now. I work at the Chrysler dealership so it's nice having a full shop at my disposal and maybe even the OEM tools if I look for them my cars hard to miss with the peeling paint and the styrofoam covered rear window and side glass. Keeps the sun out in the summer and keeps the heat in for the winter.

Sounds great, can you please be more specific to which ford and year, then I can go look for one....Thanks 1991 total rebuild will publish when finished....
