I am currently looking for a eagle talon, looking for some info and opinions

what do you think of the 95 Talon TSI AWD Turbo, it's a automatic, with 112,000km on it for $8,500CDN ??

or a 1998 eagle talon TSI Turbo (might be AWD not sure) , manual with 150,000 km on it for $8,000 CDN

what do you think the talons are good for (km)?
and what about those automatic transmissions??? rather a manual forsure but is there a big performance diff between the auto/manual?

any advice on the talons would be appreciated. contact me by replying to post, or [email protected]

Thanks Peeps :) hopefully soon i'll be posting my ride

Nope it isn’t all that much! I have seen numerous motors with 100-120k miles (160-192k km) push 400-500 hp to the wheels with out any problems. So that motor, at only 94k miles, should be OK.

Things to check for: compression and crankwalk.

That dreaded crankwalk makes any 2g purchase a gamble… Personally, I would prefer to buy a cheap crankwalking 2g and put a 6bolt motor in it. This way, there will not be any surprises…

keep the nt as daily driver and find a turbo, it'll be more cost efficient. if you really want to turbo it, hahn racecraft can help you out. there are a couple of members on here with turbo 420a's, talk to them

I paid 3200 for my Talon (95 N/T, 115,000 miles).

Mod EDIT:

1. Do not resurrect 2+ year old posts without a good reason.
2. Plugging your car ad is definitely not a good reason. Use classifieds!

Toyota motors are the best damn-it! Only reason you don't hear about them more is...well they have no sports model..Celica is a girls car and Supra is discontinued.

Quite frankly, I don't think turbocharged cars are the way to go for a daily driver..but for performance its great. Not that I don't think turbocharged cars can be reliable, but the chances are that by the time you get your hands on it, someone molested it.
