i just purchased this car... my concern is it nearly stalls when coming to a stop... at idle its between 500 and 700 rpm (small gauge)... the previos owner put a larger turbo on it and i was thinking the larger turbo reduced the idle slightly due to increased airflow needed to spin it... does this sound logical? is there an adjustment screw on the throttle body that could open it up just a little more? there was one on my camaro that had the same problem and it fixed it... also there is a very slight lifter tick at idle that comes and goes... i also beleive this has to do with low idle... should i adjust the throttle body a little so it idles at about 850 rpm? or am i completely blowing smoke out my ***?

thanks

ok.. i will try that in the morning... now when you say recirculated you mean taht it is attatched to the vaccum line? sorry i just got this car today... is there anything i should check or look for specifically
?

Post a pic of your engine bay.

When I say recirc, I mean, where the air comes out of, there should be a hose going back into your intake pipe just before the turbo.

there's ALOT of reasons for the bad idle.
-bad spark plugs/wires
-boost leak
-a non-recirculated bov (also known as venting..or vta..venting to atmosphere)

but yes, post an engine bay pic and we'll be able to help :thumb:

i have a similar problem.
i was told that i need a throttle body for my talon. sometimes it revs weird and stalls out. zometimes it doesnt start until i give it gas or it doesnt start at all. once it does start i have to rev it for a bit or throw it in neutral when i get to a stop sign and rev it so it doesnt stall out. Is there anything else that it could be? or anything i can try doing without replacing the whole throttle body?
