Just the other day i saw an Eagle Talon Tsi outside my house for $1900 only it has over 200,000 miles and has a new head (sounds like the owner is selling it because of problems). Its interior is pretty damn clean and its a 5 spd manual but it has a spray can paintjob on the hood and upper portions of the body and I'm almost certain it is close to dying so I gotta know from all you experts whether its worth buying it and getting an engine rebuild.

I gotta know how much an engine rebuild is gonna cost compared to say getting a 240sx for twice the price and getting an sr20det. ARe engine rebuilds even effective for keeping power after 200,000 miles? I know I'm also gonna need to get new timing belt, new pistons, new injectors?, new CLUTCH, and maybe some body work before I ever put up any power mods.

I also got some noob quesitons?
1. Does the Eagle Talon Tsi got the same engine as the EVO (up to V i think) with less boost?
2. What suspension mods (preferably cheaper than this $1900 car) are good?
3.What ECU upgrades and etc are good to have before getting turbo upgrade?
3. What turbos are good?
4. What models come with LSD?

I just wanna be sure because half of the posts on this message board seem to be associated with problems and I'm still not sure whether I should get this or a more expensive 240 w/ sr20det. I don't car bout drifting too much.
 
What if i can bargain for a lower price? What would be a good price anyways?
 
Where do i get an AWD for $850? I don't think I've seen any car that cheap. The car still runs but it has over 200,000 miles. The interior is very clean. I've seen race blocks for sale on dsmparts.com. Just don't know if these are worked over or completely original.
 
i bought mine with 212000 on it....it ran great when i test drove it, and there was no bad stuff goin on under the hood, but then the second day i had it BOOM there goes the timing belt...tensioner failed....now im 5000 down after a full rebuild and new big 16g and new head and all kinds of fun stuff...if you want to get it budget for a rebuild, and possibly a new turbo....i would check that too before i buy thats one thing i failed to do and regret it...ask to pull the intake pipe off of the turbo and just stick your finger in and spin the blades...if they spin free, it should be ok...if it doesnt then the seals are probly bad. also, check the shaft for play by trying to move the shaft up and down and side to side. less play the better. if you get it and just want to rebuild right away to be safe, go for it, ive got an empty slot in my shop now that my dsm is done.

Well I'm gonna forget about that car but I'm still looking for one in better condition with less mileage for similar price.
