eagle talon electrical problem?

so i havent started my car in a few days i start it up everythings fine, i start driving then immediatly the following warning lights turn on e-brake, check engine (was on before), radiator light and battery light then my amp for my subs turn off. i put it into neutral rpms drop to normal and the lights turn off (except check engine light) and the subs and amp turn back on then i put it back into gear the same thing happens except now my temp gauge is rising all the way to hot, i put it back in neutral the temp drops slowly back to normal. when all the warning lights are on my turbo timer says the volts are at 15.8 but when at idle and the warning lights are off and the volts say 13.0 which is normal. but when the volts were at 15.8 i turned the heater on all the way then the volts dropped back to 13.0 and the subs and amp turn back on what the hell is going on it seems like its gettin too much power or idk please help!!!

Sounds like your alternator is dieing. Take it out and have it tested.

it sounds like your voltage regulator is just fully opening up. i have a system and i blare it all of the time and ive gone through soo many alternators. when my alternator goes bad it usually takes the batter with it. it may be fully opening when you put it into gear because it needs more voltage of course then for the spark but because you have a system regulators will get use to the power output you usually do. this may be the reason so basically you may be looking at a new alternator.

+1 On the alt, just pull it out and bring it to your local parts store and have it tested.

i would do that shit quick. a bad alternator can #### up alot of things... you will soon end up misfiring and that car will eventually just turn off.

its your alternator, overcharging. I would personally quit driving it until you can change it. Some overamps could cause more problems. You notice your headlights and interior lights getting brighter as you speed up? Then sometimes nothing at all? Overcharging alternator. Replace it

Put a volt meter across the terminals. Check the voltage on regular idel then driving you will see. Charge up you battery then drive it without the wires to the alternator connected, see if the problem prosists. Will be replacing your battery soon if you drive it often like this

Thanks alot everyone, very helpful. but why would that cause the gauge to say its overheating?

the voltmeter will indicate or prove that it's over CHARGING, not overheating. Big difference there if you were talking about my post. Have you had any luck fixing the problem?
