Another story, not DSM related, but very amusing: My friends and I were at starbucks getting some coffee. My friend had a fairly clean Accord at the time, so as we are sitting outside a bunch of guys in a civic pull up and we start talking to them. They start showing us the car, and one of the them pops the hood. They had taken red spray paint to the block and head and yellow spray paint to everything else. Keep in mind that they didn't cover anything and the paint had started to run in places. The rest of the conversation went like this:

Guy: yeah, its pretty sweet. You should see my other car though.
Us: oh yeah? what is it?
Guy: its a NSX. Its got a ton of mods and goes 280 mph...

We just played along for our amusement and then left.

boost fluid still the best one so far, oh man neway this one came from my friend, he had a prelude and just bought a 95 tsi awd, were standing by my car with the hood popped, a bunch of friends were around as well along with his girlfriend and mine, i was explaining some things to him, then we go into this conversation:

him:"what kind of oil are you running"
me:"mobil 1 10w30"

after me saying that he started laughing....

me:"whats so funny?"
him:"your a moron, you'll break your BOV" (his exact words)
me:"WTF ...really, how so?" (i felt like watching him make a bigger ass out of himself)
him:"that oil is way too thin, your BOV needs 0w40 mobil 1"

ok at this point i couldnt hold back the laughter, after 5 mins of laughing, i HAD to set him straight even though it made him look like a complete idiot to everyone, he was trying to be soo smart...

me:"dude, so youre telling me youre running 0w40 mobil 1 in your car?"
him:"yea, duh"
me:"wow, number 1, that oils for like mercedes and such, number 2, your BOV isnt oiled, there are no oil lines, its part of the intake system, do you see anything that would indicate that your BOV recieved oil?, number 3, you dont know what your talking about do you, and number 4, change your oil to 10w30 before you blow your motor"

I know this kid that lives about 20 miles away. I saw him at a gas station one day, and he try's to tell me that his huge diamond star decal gave him 25HP. Keep in mind this is a bone stock 3g. So after i stopped laughing i replied "if you drill holes in your radiator it'll give you 30HP. I havent seen him since. This was about 3years ago. Sorry im a dick, and this kid is no dsm'er

This isn't really a dumb thing I have heard, more of a joke. But whenever me and a friend are in a car with someone else, and we see someone not use there blinker, were like "hmm they must have ran out of blinker fluid" the person just looks at us like were crazy. Some things people say will undoubtedly make you sit there and shake your head, but please, please do your best not to be a prick when talking to those people and helping them in the right direction. We already have enough people out there being assholes.

the best yet to date in my personal experience.... just purchased my 97 eagle talon.. took it in to have it looked over and checked for recalls .. etc .... nothing wrong just thought .. better safe than sorry ..

my friend and i go into the eagle dealership to pick it up .. (currently shut the hell down .. amen)

dealer: well this is one fine ride .. all looks good..
me: find any thing recalled? rigged up?
dealer: nope she looks good but you have one hell of a major air leak somewhere... took her for a test drive.. that has got to fixed.. asap.. dont want to have that leave you stranded..
me: just looked at him ... then my buddy.. just turned to the guy and told him .. are you serious .. you are going to sit here in the mecca of eagle know how and tell me this ..

me: not even going to waste my breathe ... just got to go fix that air leak ... out the door .. never turned back ... or went back ...

Ahhh... this thread should be a sticky. I've heard so many dumb comments since my post, I don't remember; however, something worth mentioning happend.

I was at my part-time job, along with my buddy Mark who works with me about 3 weeks ago. We both work at Advance. He has an '04 SRT4 silver in color. He was parked next to my Talon and we were just staring out the window talking about our cars and such.

Out of nowhere, another silver SRT4, slammed on steelies with an aftermarket exhaust pulls in, and stops in front of our cars. We were like, "What is this guy doing???!?".

He stares at my Talon, then at Mark's SRT... then, proceeds to rev this piss out of his Peon while STILL STARING at out cars, smiles, then drives away.

The best part was, Mark said "####, man... it's people like that guy that give us SRT4 owners a horrbile name. He should go buy a Honda!"

Seriously, who does shit like that?

"ya right now im just runnin' a 140 shot of nawz (thought they only made 124 and 150 jets, no in between).. went to the track last month and ran 11 seconds flat (its winter and all tracks are closed)... pretty soon im getting it turboed and ill be running 30lbs of boost with the 140 shot.."

we just go along with him till he finally leaves and we stop laughing.. his name is ducky by the way...

Had a kid at my college, (who I also used to work with) ask me what the noise was between shifts. First he thought it was nitrous, and I was like it's my Greddy Type-S B.O.V. He was like you must have an awsome turbo to make it sound like that. I was like Uhh sure. Normaly this isn't a big deal, but than he told me he used to Have a GSX with over 670 HP or something like that. I was like thats cool, but yet you don't know what a basic mod like a B.O.V is . I think he was lying haha, or he bought that car like that. He than told me how the stock internals are good for over 700 HP and I should get a Forced performance blue turbo hahahaha. Oh and this same kid's brother had a stock turbo integra , I guess he had the only one ever made in the history of Honda/Acura

...And why do people always tell me I should've bought the twin turbo Eclipse... *Sigh

And it never fails when I see a bunch of teens around my car in a parking lot I walk up and say, "Nice car, who's is it?" and some kid always tells me it's his, and it's "Wicked fast!"
