Will the ecu run without the orange gel insulation?

That orange gel should only be for waterproofing purposes. So yes it should run if removed but wouldn't hold up unless mounted inside the car

Thanks, I plan on relocate to car anyways. Was going to replace bottom plate with plexi and mount led inside ECU.
