I got my TRE probe in today and decided to slap it on the car. It already had previously been wired to light up and was grounded. the only 2 wires left were the red and white wires that belonged to the stainless steel sheathed wires.

So i followed the directions per TRE's instructions, running the + to the red wire and the - to the white wire..

and BAM! nothing, my EGT needle DOESN'T MOVE! what am I missing? Why am I retarded? :notgood:

Let me understand, the EGT was working before then you installed the new TRE EGT probe. But then it didnt work? My last TRE probe had to be wired backwards (dont ask since I dont know why), I usd a multimeter and checked that the voltage was positive, which it wasnt so thats how I made the descision to swap them. maybe try to reverse the wires and see what happens. Also I had a friend who placed the tre yellow connector onto the exisitng EGT wires to the gauge incorrectly. The insulated portion of the wire goes into the holes at the end of the connector then the stripped portion (bare wire) is placed on the contacts then the cap placed on that. My froend somehow placed the wires ontop of the connector then secured the cap smashing everything (again do not know how)
