dual piston calipers larger rotors seal rebuild kit

i picked up a set of dual piston calipers from i think a 94.
I saw on RRE that they sell a kit with larger rotors, where are these rotors from and can i just grab them and throw them on or do they have an adapter?

also, I am having a hell of a time finding a caliper rebuild kit, seals etc. any recomendations or sites? i checkd with napa and they had two or three different seal kits for dual piston 1g's and the descriptions on the site were horrible so i couldnt figure out which one i needed. the guys at napa werent any help either.

I really want to put these calipers on but need lines, rebuild kit and info on which rotors to get. I could obviously stay with the stock size that i have with my single piston setup but if there is a cheap larger rotor i would like that as it will be better for breaking absorbing more energy and possibly giving a better lever arm with the larger radius giving better braking force.

any help or advice would be awesome!

RRE's Eclipse Brake Upgrades

Factory Big Brake Upgrades
Fits all FWD turbo and non turbo '89-99 & AWDs from '89-92 (mfg date of 5/92). Kit increases rotor diameter from 255mm to 275mm. Calipers are dual piston instead of single piston. Fits some 15" and all 16" wheels. Kit is for the front only. Your rear brakes are fine, the more brake you put on the front the less you need on the rear.
With stock style pads and rotors $ 485
With Metal Master pads and Power Slot rotors (recommended) $580

You need the rotors from a 93+ AWD car. They are the ones with the larger rotors and dual piston calipers. 2g AWD rotors will work too as they have the larger rotors and DPCs. I'm guessing napa has different manufacturers that supply them with rebuild kits. Just make sure you are getting the ones for a 93+ AWD car. The FWD's have single piston calipers and smaller rotors.

thanks for posting that part list. i got a brake upgrade kit when i bought my tsi and was thinking of rebuilding the calipers as well. how difficult was it to rebuild the caliper?

So I'm looking at this, and number one, it doesn't say if it has enough for both front calipers.
Number two, the set of calipers I have are off of (If I remember right) a 97 GSX.
This says the kit works with BOTH the GSX AND the GST...... But the GSX and the GST do not have the same calipers.
So I assume that it just comes with a ton of extra for both types of calipers?

Huh. rockauto has the beck kits sorted a little better. 2wd (0717920) and 4wd (0717888). You can see from the pictures that the 717888 is for 2 pot calipers as it has two of everything (four total) and the 717920 is from the single pot.
There's a RAYBESTOS Part # WK2029 that looks promising. But it's $21 and looks as though that's only for one caliper. Which is really fine. I just don't want to waste money on an extra repair kit that I'll probably never use. Hints why I ask if the beck comes with enough for both.

Only other thing I see is that they list a ton of other cars that the kit works for...... Cars which I'm pretty sure don't have the same calipers.
Maybe I don't know enough about this stuff. Maybe the seals, rings and rubber are all... For the most part a standard size which is why it works for so many things.

beyond,
it was really easy.
if you ahve compressed air it is easier to get the pistons out of the bore. but be careful they come flying out of there, i put a wood block in there to catch them without damage.

Hey guys, sorry to revive this post, but I'm also buying a rebuild kit (seals) but It is not very clear if the kit sold will repair 1 or both calipers ?

That is for one caliper. Typically all kits are sold this way so you need two kits.
