Another car!
So I blew a hole in my block and oil pan at the beginning of August. Now I'm taking my time to build the 7-bolt from the bottom up. I desperately needed something else to drive. For your pleasure, here are some pix of the damage.

So here she is, my 2005 Ford Explorer. It's the Eddie Bauer edition with the V8. It was actually my dad's, but he wanted something a little bigger and a little newer. So he went with an '08 Expedition that had some water damage. Got a great deal on it. Anyways, I needed something that was not only reliable but also something that could get me through the New England winters. Sure, I could have found an AWD 2G for much less than what I paid, but I wanted something that I wouldn't have to think or worry that much about. And lets be honest, if I got myself an AWD, I would just throw all my bolt-ons into that.
If you can believe, this is only my second car. I've had the 2G for over 9 years now, so it was time for a little bit of a change. Plus, there's plenty of room in the back for the motor, in case I need to move it somewhere else. Kinda makes me laugh that others younger than I are already on their 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th DSM.
I'm paying 13K for the Ford, but it's really worth 17.5K. Only 61K miles on it so far. I also got the sales tax exempt because the sale is within the family. A nice bonus.
I also found out my credit score for the first time. Don't know if I should post that up though.
And in true DSMunknown fashion, I had to go back to the loading docks.
And here are a couple more shots.
I definitely don't want to throw any money into this if I don't have to, but I was thinking about blacking out the wheel lip moldings. There are a few scratches on at least three of the corners, plus I think it would make the car look a bit sleeker. On the other hand, that's the same color of the interior, so it does compliment the car well. So if someone wouldn't mind doing a quick photoshop I would appreciate it. TIA.
Guess I'm on my way to becoming my own version of Paul Walker.
Got the Ford truck/SUV as my parts-getter and daily driver, and the 2G in the garage which will be a nice lil gremlin. Now all I need is a knockout GF (plus another gajillion things to fill the role).

. Has 210,XXX miles on it and everything works, power windows, A/C - everything. The most reliable vehicle i've ever owned besides my Honda CBR600.
