A few of my buddys have gotten 750s and 600s and I was wondering would what it take to be able to play catch up or stay with them. In theory that is anyone on here able to do so? Yeah sorry im not a 16year old ricer, looking to go out and kill people. Ive been around DSMs for a bit now and know my fair share about them, im just not on this site a whole lot.

I changed my post, and make it to even better fit the rules since it got somone to complain.

My buddy has a video at the track of his GVR4 fully modded with a straight t3, smoking the hell out of a Yamaha R6, Turboed Integra Type R and a supercharged lingenfelter corvette.

I know the rules did you not see "IN THEORY" so how much hp would be needed, its a discusion im not even talking about as a street race. My freind did that on the street and I just added info thats all....

Post up the vid?

Local guys on our 1/8 miles tracks around Charleston sc run 7.3-7.5's mostly with 600cc bikes. I have run a best of 7.5@98mph and judging by my 1/4 mile MPH I probably have around 400 awhp.

Hope that gives you an idea.

Most pieces of shit on bikes cant launch em.... it all depends on the rider... never run a bike from a roll for cash.... get them from a dig, most guys, unless very experienced are scared to launch their bikes hard, dsmlink launch limiter next to them pinging 5k doesn't help them concentrate.

I don't know what you mean by "playing with bikes" but to beat bikes, small bikes, you need at least a high 11 second DSM.

a buddy of mine (dsm_23 on here) had a really close race with my friend on a honda 600rr. hes running a evo3, but for some reason i still think the bike had a little more to go. rider makes all the difference on a bike

From a roll chances are you can't hang. These are 600cc bikes. From a stop would be the best bet. Most 600s from early 00s (perhaps even way back) run 11s in stock form with a good rider, but most cant launch, so thats you best bet.

That is true, when my buddy beat that R600, he said the guy didnt know how to launch that well, making it way easier to beat him. I would post up the video buy my friend runs his own DSM shop and is so busy he wont beable to get it. Been trying to get a body piece for my friends GVR4, for about 3 months and all he has to do is go in his basement and grab it.

A straight T3? or a T3/T4? That must have been some shitty driving for those other guys.

It depends on what type of bike 600cc or liter bike and from what speeds. From a roll race a 600 really doesn't take taht much power to beat. From 0-low 100's they are fast as #### but once past there their bikes don't make enough power to overcome the large drag that all bikes fall victim to. Past 100 miles an hour you should be able to pull a 600 fairly easy. As for 1000's you'd need quite a bit of power to take one of those from a roll or stop.

for some reason I have a feeling he won't be doing too much racing at over 100 mph. I've had my fair share of driving at those speeds (on the track of corse....:D ) but I've never said, hey, lets race this person up til I can't see how fast I'm going (damn 145mph speedo...) so I'll win. I tend to not race people on the freeway at all, just because around me there isn't much that contends, its illegal, and I don't really get anything out of it. Wow, I beat another car, woot... At the track there is some actual competition and people who can whoop my ass, so Its nice to see what I can take and what I can't there.

Quite a bit of power meaning you better go bigger than the almighty GT35R to stand a chance. :)
A stock 2005 Yamaha R1 has 180hp. So with AWD you may be able to beat em for all of 1st gear, by 2nd gear, you're toast.

From a roll, you'd better be in Sheps car or forget about it.

Why do you not think a straight t3, forged and stroked, water to air intercooler and just a MAFT to tune with, could beat all those cars. His car has atleast 500whp. He's my dsm mechanic and he has been building this car since I can remember. When people wonder if its worth buying a dsm to mod, he just gives them a spin in his car and everyone wants one. Its a good way to promote your work.

Because a straight T3 would run out of steam so fast on a 2.0l it would be like driving a DSM with a T-25. I've never seen a T-25 powered DSM that pushes anywhere near 500whp. Even the biggest straight T3 can only flow 35lbs/min, that's why we're having a hard time believing you.

*edit* just saw that he's also stroked. No one would waste their time or money on a straight T03 and then stroke their engine.

Well look at it this way ... an 01 gixxer 600 is rated right around a 10.70 @ 126 or so. Assuming the rider is not a professional there's no way they'll run that time, but running off of a 50 mph roll doesn't take much skill to go wot ... in a bike it's all about the launch to get the times, the mph is what you are concerned with for roll races. You figure you need something that traps 126+ to beat one off a roll.

I had a 1999 gsxr600 until recently and my car could hang off a roll. The 99s were carb'd and only had like 90 something hp. I've played around with a few other bikes with my car as well and generally a bike will pull me, but not hard. My new bike is a 2002 gsxr1000, that's a different story. ;-)

If your car cant pull on this guy, then you have problems. Sorry, Im having to much fun.

Ok your right, I just went over there last night and yes its a garrett t3/t4, forgot what trim he said. Sorry about that he used to have a t3 but wasnt pushing near as much power

Well whenever I raced my buddy on his 05 600rr it was from a roll everytime. From 40 we were even until I shifted to third. From 60 we were even until i shifted again. from a 4th gear roll however we were almost dead even, since 4th gear is much longer I could stay in powerband longer, and it was an awesome race, he was shocked since there reallly isnt any other cars around here that could pull that off. Needless to say I was surprised as well. :rocks:
