DSMLink?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Well, three points:

1) Only an idiot pays that much for an ECU. They can be had for $150 - $200.

2) You ever installed, set up, and tuned a stand alone? Obviously not.
3) For those that are effected by strict emissions regulations, a Haltech won't pass the visual. It will fail for reasons varying from no c/e light, no obd-ii response, all the way to no CARB EEO tag #.

I have helped with Haltech installs, and I HAD a PMS. There is NO guess work with the DSMLink. You plug it in and go. Because it uses the factory maps as a base... it runs like a swiss watch right out of the box.

I checked out the site and it says nothing about the palm version can someone explain that version to me in more detail.

1. I will still have to send my ECU in correct?

2. If I buy a laptop later will I need any other parts or need to send the ECU back?

3. Does the palm version just log or does it allow you to manipulate settings?

4. When my afc was install the wires were cut and soldered. So I will have to un-solder them from the AFC and back together correct?

Thanks,

yeah the big difference between usign something like a haltech vs using the dsmlink is the dsmlink still uses a factory ECU so it has factory fuel curves and what not.. tuning a standalone like a haltech is a complete pita.. :)

The Palm version permits you to do ALL of the same control functions that the lap top does, and then some.

It's not listed on the web site because it's not a "DSMLink" product. I wrote it, and it's available (at no charge) to DSMLink owners. People who purchase the DSMLink know where to find it.

I get no financial gain out of it... period.
