2G DSMLink won't connect problem

Im having a problem and cant seem to find a solution. I have had dsmlink v2.5 in my car since 08 and it has worked fine up untill now. I pulled my motor had it rebuilt and so on, DSMlink worked fine before removal. Well a few months down the road I put the car back together and now can not get it to connect at all. I have tried 3 laptops including the one I used before and I have tried 3 different serial to usb adapters. There are no dsm's where im at to try anything on. Are there any connections in the engine bay that would cause a problem if not connected?
I checked all fuses they are fine, I am on correct com port on both link and laptop. My car has been sitting for a month now all together just waiting for this issue to be resolved. Any help suggestions will be appreciated thanks.

Seems obvious, but have you checked the cable connections, especially at the diagnostic port on the fuse box?

Did you remove or unplug the ECU during this time?

Does the car start and run?

Have you measured the voltage at your battery?

Yea all plugs look fine, there was no interior work done at all. The ecu was un-touched until recently to check for visible damage. The car will start up and stay running but is set for 1000cc injectors (I put them in to see if it would start). It runs fine as long as I give her some gas at idle.

Ok so I have tried many different things and still no connection. Im not sure what else to do other than send all my stuff in and have it tested. Im impatient and have a brand new motor in my car and want to use it. Any more suggestions>? Thanks
