HI guys,

I have a 2G chassis with a 2G ECU, with a 6 bolt (6 bolt cas) and I am doing a custom harness. I would like a sanity check on which sensors are required for it to run. So far, I have the following

Starting with connector B-53

Pin 1 - #1 Injector

Pin 85 - Barometric Pressure - Where does this go?
Pin 86 - Vehicle Speed Sensor
Pin 87 - Idle Switch (The current TB does not have one, But will chage TBs later)
Pin 88 - Cam Position Sensor (White wire on CAS Sensor, Pin 1)
Pin 89 - Crank Sensor ( Yellow wire on CAS Sensor, Pin 2)
Pin 90 - Volume Airflow Sensor (I assume this was MAF, If so, Deleted / Empty)
Pin 91 - Empty
Pin 92 - Sensor Ground

Connector B53 - Pin 3: Fuel Pressure Solenoid - Is this for fuel pressure sensor from the FPR?OBD2 Signal. I am going to be running this straight off the ECU - for OBD2 Data / Functionality with DSMLink, Is this the only 4 wires I need going to the OBD2 connector?Pin 1 Diagnostic line to ECU (connector B-55, pin 56)
Pin 5 Ground
Pin 7 Data line to ECU (connector B-55, pin 62)
Pin 16 +12v unswitched power

Pin 3 is a output from the ECU to drive the factory fuel pressure solenoid. It's used to raise the fuel pressure on warm starts by connecting the FPR manifold reference to atmospheric pressure instead of vacuum. Low side. There isn't a fuel pressure sensor.

Pin 11 is a PWM output from the ECU to drive the factory boost control solenoid. Low side. It shouldn't matter which pin on the Mac valve this goes to but like the rest of the low side outputs it only sinks current.

Pin 17 is a PWM output from the ECU to drive the factory boost gauge. Low side.

Pin 19 is used by the ECU to reset the MAF circuitry at times when the airflow is interrupted. If your running Speed Density it's not needed. Low side.

OBD2 connector both pins 4 and 5 are grounds. Technically pin 5 is the signal ground where pin 4 is the power ground but the factory wiring connects both to the same point.
 
I think you'll find having an ISC to be useful. (pins 4, 5, 17, 18)

DSMLink needs the factory MPI relay function. There is housekeeping it does during turn-off. (The normal delay before the ECU deactivated the MPI relay power via pin 38)

You may still want to connect the CEL Pin 36 to a light since you can program DSMLink to do other things with it.

Several of the other pins on that connector are used to tell the ECU there is a load on the engine for idle purposes.

Pin 58 is the ignition pulse from the factory PTU into the ECU.

You still need a front O2 signal on pin 76 even if it's simulated.

I think pin 79 is the programming pin for the later ECUs.

Pin 81 is the +5 Sensor Power.

Pin 84 is the TPS output. The power and ground come from 81 and 92.

3. The factory PTU is required? Where is it wired to / from? Pinout? - I have Dynatec ARC-2 CDI setup. Is this still needed?

4. The front 02 - The only 02 sensor installed in exhaust is the LC2 - Do I tap the feed from the gauge to go into both pins and then enable simulation?

5. TPS output? Output to.. where?

Both of the MPI relay connector options are available. I don't know if one is more readily available than the other now.

If you are making a fresh wiring harness to trigger a CDI, the PTU isn't needed. I always tell people that the PTU adds a little more noise resistance, so leave it in if it is there. But I wouldn't go out of the way to add one to a harness. Keep in mind that not having the PTU changes the signal going to the ARC-2, so you will trigger on a different edge. And you should not use the install harness that is specific to the DSM, instead use a universal install harness, and you will need to run the tach output from the CDI back to the ECU. This goes to pin 58.

TPS Output refers to the output signal from the TPS. That goes to pin 84 on the ECU
