First off, I don't want this thread to get into a "don't vent, it robs performance, blah blah." My car came with a TurboXS BOV, I have not felt any running issues with it through this setup, and until I feel like it is not performing well enough (or I win the lottery) I am not going to simply replace it (unless someone wants to trade :) ).

I am working on building up all of the supporting mods for my long-term upgrade path. My next step is go get DSMLink. I was looking at all of the adjustments saw the MAF compensation. Now, I agree that venting causes a rich fuel mixture, but doesn't this alleviate this problem? Can't I run some readings, perform calculations based on the amount of air my BOV vents out, and then reduce the amount of air around my shift RPM's?

If you want to vent, get a gm maf. You can't with a stock 2g maf.

Ok, but if I get the GM maf, isn't it generally located past the BOV anyway, and I guess that that would solve it long-term as well, huh? I will probably go this route eventually, I was just looking for some basic work-arounds for my current setup. Thanks guys.

It's not basic work to get blow thru setup, all the components, and if you get new pipes will cost a a few bills 300+ last i recall. So if venting is that important to you, expect to pay to play, or suffer the shame of all dsm owners criticizing you for venting the wrong way. :)

And to answer your original question, NO. People have tried to reword it differently, bring it up in a sneaky fashion, claiming they know the issues, yet still ask, the answer will still be.. NO.

No, there is no basic work around and we honestly don't need another venting thread.

Whenever you install the GM MAF, it is placed between the bov and the throttle body. Here's a pic of my engine bay for an example:

You can also install it in draw thru (which you put it in place of the stock MAS) but this will not allow you to vent.

With the blow thru setup, you'll be set if you ever want to push 400hp+ from your car, as the stock MAS is good for about 400-425hp.
