okay just to set the stage for all this, i started out a couple years ago on dsm's pretty clueless, sold the gs for a gst, decided i wanted a convertible, bought a spyder gst with a 6bolt swap untuned, ended up finding a better buy on another spyder with the same 6bolt swap, and all upgrades already done. financially, it was a better decision.
i bought the car with a bent valve, had the head rebuilt, and upgraded to metal headgaskets and arp studs. the list of upgrades is in my profile. the car was tuned with dsmlink on the dyo with the stock 14b, about 15-16 psi, put down about 240whp, 240 torque.
i had planned on upgrading the turbo, since all the supporting mods were done. but having bought a car and having the shope tune it, i kind of missed out on the learning experience. thats not the kind of person i am, but it was very convenient.
the stock 14b blew a week or two ago, so the cars just sitting. im in the market for a new turbo, i was looking at the evo3 16g, being as i have read nothing but good about it, and i should get a lot out of it being as i already have everything to support it and the tuning capabilities as well.

but i am clueless as to what i have to do to have the car running properly after having installed the new turbo.

what should i expect if i were to run the car tuned how it is now?
i know my way around the program and such, but as to adjusting this and that, i dont know where to begin.

im very mechanically inclined, but in regards to tuning, i have never had the opportunity to learn.

i would appreciate any input, also, if anybody has any other suggestions as to where i should head with upgrading this car? im not trying to go crazy with it, i think an evo 16g with the mods done now should be sufficient for my taste, but somebody might prove me differnt. not a daily driver for the sake of miles, but a weekend car, not a track car either.

thanks a lot in advance-

well if you have dsmlink, and its already set up for the injecter you have..it wont be hard to tune at all...the 16g is not much bigger then a 14b. but the 16g is a kick ass turbo i love mine. The only thing you would have to do are minor adjustments..maybe a little more fuel and advance timing a bit but no major adjustments...thats my 2 cents:talon:

How to street tune using DSMLINK

You have the intecooler, the injectors, fuel pump, and stout block. You're good to go with the above instructions. You should be able to put down over 300 to the wheels w/ the EVO3 16G.

I suggest a set of FP1 or FP2 cams for your next upgrade if you plan on doing any more w/ this car. You have the 1g intake mani on that 6-bolt head, don't you? The 1G head/intake combo doesn't fall off up top as much. So a set of FP2s probably would be best. And would be enough cam for a future turbo upgrade, if you dare. Nevertheless, the stock cams have a great midrange where the EVO3 shines.

yea, i got the 1g head and intake manifold. and i think i got a greddy uicp and type s boy and 1g throttle body sittin around here somewhere to put on too. right now its a stock uicp( i dont know why) with an hks ssq and 2g throttle body.

Depends on what you want to spend... A good Dsmlink turbo with plenty of potentual donw the road is a 50trim. No denying the Mitsu evo316g turbo. The things a beast for the $$
