dsmlink prob

hey i have a 95 gsx with dsmlink v2.5 and for some reason it is staying locked in open loop mode randomly while cruising. once locked in open loop, it will only return to closed loop mode if i shut the car off and let sit for 5 min then restart the engine. it is also reading a front o2 malfunction but i only have a wideband i think no front o2. i cant find how to solve this issue.... any help is appretiated

First off, physically check to see if you have a front o2 or wideband (in the o2 housing), if it's the front o2 check if it's cycling correctly (via DSMLINK). A bad front o2 won't cycle. If it's the wideband, check if the "narrowband simulation" is set up correctly thru link & wiring also.

well its a wideband, and about the o2 simulation and wiring, i have no idea whatsoever how to inspect it and make sure its wired right or is programmed to simulate...

What kind of wideband are you using? Is it just the gauge?

im using a plx wideband and it has a autometer gauge as well for afr display. i checked and it also has a rear o2 about 3 feet back from where the front o2 is

It's should be under nbo2 tab in link ..unless u don't have that function in v2.5 you'll have to mess with inputs I believe not sure because I haven't touch that stuff yet .. But there's a knowledge base on ecmtuning.com its there "wiki" and look for aftermarket sensor install on the page

OP has v2.5, which does not have NB simulation.

OP, log your front O2 sensor (if it's hooked up) and see if it's cycling as V12_Killa said. If it randomly stops cycling or you don't even have one, there is your problem.

And... you should seriously consider upgrading to V3Lite at the least.
