1. You should NOT bump your own threads...........if someone has an answer, they'll give it.

2. There is a DSMLink (only) support forum that should answer any DSMLink specific questions. http://www.dsmlink.com/forums/

Since they have a specific forum for questions, and if you own a legitimate version it should not be an issue to get on (plus you'll get help from people that actually use it).........we have come to the conclusion that their forum is where a question regarding DSMLink should be asked.

Apposed to to the Tuning & Engine Management>Log File Advice section of Dsmtuner?? Are you saying that those of us who have Dsmlink logs are no longer welcome to post our .dat logs for advice on this site??

The main problem is that there seems to be a rash of people that "appear" to be looking at ways to circumvent the process of actually purchasing a legitimate copy of DSMLink (not saying a "real" member of this board would do such a thing).

With the availability of a specific forum and help from people who actually use this tuning device it seems rather pointless to come to this site and get information that may not apply.

Of course if someone were to post logs and inquire as to the validity of the tune we wouldn't "rag" on anybody that wanted to help. Maybe just steer them toward the DSMLink forums if more specific information is required.

What I'm mainly talking about is program specifics, or the specifics of what's required to run DSMLink so as not to "give away" any proprietary information that should really stay with DSMLink.

By posting a .dat log, the only people who can see them are other DSMLink users who have the program. If that's the case, then this is a question better asked on their forum.

We're not kicking dsmlink users out, but we are trying to discourage bootlegging of this dsmlink program. If you have a registered copy of DSMLink, you should have access to their forums and the customer support that they provide to registered users.

If you still want us to view that log, convert it to a .csv file so non-DSMLink users can view it through a spreadsheet program.

Actually cant we download the program from there website to read his log. Someone told me awhile back to just download the program for free to read the logs from dsmlinks website.

While I will not confirm or deny this statement, I will say that Armando is correct............

If you still want us to view that log, convert it to a .csv file so non-DSMLink users can view it through a spreadsheet program.

This way someone who uses DSMLink will be able to receive input from everyone.

I understand your concern.

Though I don't share your point of view I respect it. If you don't have DSMlink then you wouldn't understand the forums. It's flooded with very experienced tuners that kind of 'sift through' generic posts. It's a knowledge based forum and sometimes a little overwhelming for beginners. Very few experienced individuals actually spend the time helping beginners. It can be a little frustrating at times. It's nothing that a few hours of search sifting wont answer. This site definitely gets more traffic of willing contributers.

Correct. The DSMlink Application is free on the ECMtuning website.. It can also be exported to an Excel file.
