Alright heres my deal I live in NH, great state, but any car year above 1995 needs to be plugged in and pass the computer test. Now I have a 1997 car so it is supposed to be plugged in but I have a 1995 ecu. Will my car even be able to be plugged in, is a 1995 eprom OBD-2 or OBD-1? Also will DSMlink have any adverse effects on the inspection test. I know the guy so all I have to do is pass the computer test he does not even look the car over. Thanks guys I am just worried now about this.

The ECU does not determine if your car is OBD I or OBD II. Any 95-99 Eclipse is OBD II, even though 95's don't get OBD tested for emissions. So yes, your car will be plugged in for it's emissions test.

With DSMlink on a '96+ vehicle, it will make all of the emissions values incomplete. The only way around this that I know of is to get the Palm version which can change the ready codes. Otherwise the car won't pass the emissions scan.

#### I dont know what to do, but he did say that the last guy that came in with it passed so idk.

If you have version 2 of DSMlink then get a palm pilot, the required cables, and download the palm software so you can make it say ready.

If you have V3 then you are screwed as there is no palm software yet.

My god this is going to be a bigger pain then I thought yes I have v2 and will any old palm do? If you do not mind me asking where is this software for this. Thanks

I thought I was going to have to go through all of this but I put <5000 miles on my car a year so it's emissions exempt. Otherwise I don't know what I'd do other than unplug my speedometer once it got close to 5k. Is there any way you can get an exempt sticker in your state?

I didn't know you could make the codes ready with the Palm, nice bit of info.
