DSM MAF to GM MAF

hey guys i was just wondering what i need to go from the OE maf to the GM one so that way i can have a different BOV and the tube from the turbo to the air filter.

There are two answers to your question.

The first one is simple.Get a different bov,and intake,and 2g maf.Thats all bolt on besides the 2g maf requires some wiring. You don't need a different bov,The 1g valve is a great valve."But I want that pshhh sound".Thats still a simple mod to put a type s on the stock 1g piping,its just two holes need to be drilled and the old 1g holes need to be sealed.Now changing to a 2g maf on a 1g,also requires a tune unless you have 550 injectors,going in with the 2g maf.

The next answer is putting a gm maf in the car rather than the 1g 2g evo maf.But that's gonna require a maf translator.And most of the folks running the gm maf system run a speed density system.

Back to the pshh sound...On a speed density system you can vent your bov to the atmosphere.On our stock systems,that air is already calculated for,and venting to atmosphere isn't a good idea.

He is right. If you want a GM maf, there is a bit more work involved because you will end up welding in a GM IAT into your intercooler piping (and other related equipment, ecu work, wideband, ostrich 2.0...etc). I have it done but am also running speed density and venting to atmosphere. If you want the gm maf, and do it right, You're going to need a tuning software. That will get pricey if all you want is a different blow-off sound.

Get a gm maf and translater. Install it after your BOV and be done with it. No ecu work or wiring needed.

No one said anything about him wanting to go sd. So no, he wont end up needing anything you listed.

Again, he asked how to go from a oe maf to a gm maf. Nothing about a 2g maf. Different bov, or sd. The only time people run a gm maf with sd is to help create a starting sd map by using the sensor.
