Ok, I know the Eclipse turbo has the 42# injectors, what engine size is the motor? Anyways, I am wondering if these 42# injectors ,from the Eclips Turbo, will work on my 99 Ford Escort ZX2 ??? My motor: 2.0 DOHC 4 cylinder fuel injected 16V

42#? You mean what size are the injectors? Auto's have the 390's, Manuals have 450's and Non-Turbo have 240's. I know with Honda's you have to get resistors for the injectors, might have to do the same with yours but not 100% positive. As for motor size, 2.0 4cyl 16v FI.

Ive read of mustang guys swapping to 42 lb. injectors and thats the same as 450cc injectors, but i doubt dsm injectors will work on your ford.

I don't know what injectors Ford put into the ZX2, but I do know that most of the Ford V8's use a 14mm lower o-ring and 14mm fuel rail side O-ring. The Mitsu's typically use a 16mm lower o-ring and 11mm upper or fuel side O-ring. So, if I were to take a guess, I'd say they wouldn't work. - Brian

well, I know I can use the Ford F150 Lightning injectors apple green top, But they are expensive, My buddy works at a Junk Yard an they have a couple Eclips turbo, so i wanted to see if i could get them..... My stockers are 19#. I need 42# anny suggestion, BTW i am only runing 6 psi.

Also BTW. i figured i might share this.. I am using a first gen eclips BOV... thats what brought me to this site.. any suggestions for the BOV as well..? Thanl you sorry im a NOOB<<<<< LOL :thumb:

I don't know if you will really need 42#/450cc injectors. They have been known to flow enough for 300 or more hp.

How are you controlling these injectors? Going from 19# to 42# is a big ass change!

If you do want some, they are usually for sale here, or at DSMTraders, or local DSM pages all over the place, and on Ebay.

You also need to make sure your pump and fuel lines etc are up to it, because if you do fit in bigger injectors and whatever electronics you need to run them, and your pump is not up to it, you will still run lean and melt something.

Good luck tho, sounds like fun.

They will definately not work. DSM injectors are low impedence, fords, GM's, and many other domestics and imports for that matter use high impedence injectors.

Not all domestics ;)

I am running 75# Rochester/Delphi injectors. Drop in and go. They are identical to many more in many GM veh, just alot bigger :D

THANK YOU. I told him this yesterday. Shaun, seriously, how many people do you need to tell you that DSM injectors will not work on your ZX2? It's okay to be economical about your spending but when you're turbo'ing an engine that came from the factory naturally aspirated, you should try to avoid ghetto-rigging your entire setup.

After all, haven't you blown up enough stuff on that ZX2?

ask the guys at ww.zx2tuners.com

They make a turbo kit for the zx2 anyways. Just buy that. If you blow up your engine, which you probably will, you can sell the turbo kit for a new engine.

What they said, you undoubtedly need high-impedance, saturated injectors, not low-impedance, peak-and-hold type like turbo DSM's have. If you look at this list, there are plenty of other cars, like the RX-7's, that you have to choose from:

BTW, I actually have a set of those Denso 195500-1370 550cc injectors for sale on eBay right now, but that webpage is sort of wrong. Denso made them in BOTH saturated AND peak-and-hold, and the ones I got ahold of are high-impedance, saturated-type, just what you need. But, 550cc may be more than your fuel management can handle. ;)
