has anyone done it i got to make this car go 300 miles only using 1st 3rd and 5th gear. so iam planning on taking this car out around 10 or 11 at night and cruisiing down to LA from san jose... hopefuly ill make it any one had anything like this... i was going to give in and have a tranny shop fix it but they get all dumb on me and piss me off.. i called one guy today and was like how long and how much would you charge me to r/r my shift linkage? and they were like straight out "I DONT KNOW" and was like we got to take a look at the car and see whats wrong with it after i kept repeating what was wrong with it.

so what's busted exactly? the shifter cables? or the shifter arms on the tranny

I took an Audi 100LS from the Sunset District in SF to Napa with no brakes other than the parking brake, so you might be okay. Once you hit I-5 -if you make it that far- there's not much shifting to do, until LA. Then you whip out the AAA card.

I got the roadster from Candlestick to Napa with no alternator, at night. Drove a Vespa scooter from Orinda to SF, over the Bay Bridge. And got a 200SX from Auburn to Galt on a battery. Again, no lights. At night.

Lots of people do stupid stuff.
