Ok so i am pretty sure i have a bad water pump, making like this rough whining sound next to the timing belt and water temp gets up to about 230+, and doesn't blow hot air through the heater.

so bad water pump right?

Well my question is i have a guy that really wants my car and wants me to drive it up to him tomorrow which is about an hour drive, its mainly freeway driving for about 55 miles.

will i make it if i watch water temp and dont let it get over 230? the whole way or will the car take a shit on me then i wont have a deal?

Why not fix the problem before selling it. It is impossible for anyone on here to know if your car will make it on that drive. It either will or it won't. Are you willing to take the chance of blowing the engine and having nothing to sell?

well it's either i drive it up or the guy wants to come on friday and drive it back himself and i really don't wanna have some buyers remorse. the guy wants the car as is

If you have a bad water pump it wont make it that far. Has the guy even seen the car? Has he paid you any money? What if you drive it up there and he decides to only offer you half the money or decides he doesn't want it..

Have him come and get it himself and let him know it has a bad water pump.

An issue I see here is that the water pump is likely not the culprit if it isn't leaking out the weep holes. The pump is either bad and has a broken impeller, or it is good and doesn't. There is really no in between. If the impeller is broken than the pump would not flow any coolant and the car would badly overheat. If it is staying at a steady 230 which is too got, than the pump is working. I would look into a partially clogged radiator, a bad thermostat, low coolant, or possibly a leaking head gasket. It would really suck to be the buyer and you tell him water pump and the thing has a blown head gasket. I would either fix it and let him come pick it up, or tell him to bring a trailer and that it is as is.

Looks like it all comes down to you and what you want to do at this point. Fix it or have him get it as is and he can deal with, simple as that.
