So purchased car yesterday, previous owner said the problem started a month after clutch job at a shop.

The car will engage gears when it's off, but when you turn it on they will grind when they're going in, almost as if no clutch is being engaged. I was able to force it into first, and it will move but if you step on the gas it'll just start making a wierd noise with no noticeable movement. When the car is in neutral and I press the clutch all the way down it kind of pulses/vibrates.

Am I looking at a transfer case problem?
I'm going to tear into the transmission tommorow, and try and figure something out. Just seeing if anyone has had a similar issue

Hey, what's up man.. sounded like I had heard this problem before.. Don't force your car into gears, it's keeping you out for a reason, otherwise you'll start to kill your synchros inside of your trans. http://www.jackstransmissions.com/pages/clutch-drag-kills-synchros

There are quiet a few possibilities, one could be that the shop didn't properly adjust the clutch, not giving you enough travel to fully engage the clutch to get it into gear. Another could be that they didn't bleed it well enough so you have air in the lines. Have you checked to make sure that the slave isn't hitting the end of the bell housing? I'm actually close and can help you out if you need it. There are a few things you need to do prior though such as making sure your clutch is properly adjusted VIA this video.

Also be sure that the fork isn't hitting the housing. Have someone watch the trans window while you push in the clutch, or vice versa. You have my number so if you'd like you can text me about the issue and perhaps I can find some time tomorrow prior to work.

Hmm didn't think of that...the car is actually at my cousins shop in Kerman, I was planning on heading out there early tommorow and trying to maybe get a head start on things brotha
. The car is a little ways out don't want you waiting your time but if you'd like your more than welcome would definitely help me out. I'm kind of going into this blind sided, and going off brief internet information haha

Hey now, this brief internet has quiet a bit to offer haha. Well I will see if I can't e
Help out, but sounds like an adjustment issue.. easy fix
