Driveshaft Carrier's HELP

I want to know if it is possible to just replace the carriers and not the whole driveshaft. And does anyone know where I can get some cheap if it is possible. My machanic said that you had to buy the whole driveshaft becuase it wasnt rebuildable... pleese help. I am too broke for that
