When I originally bought my car this wasn't an issue. I have adjusted my fender multiple times only to have it not change hardly at all. Any suggestions? Is the door sagging issue common with the 1G's something that could be an issue here?

Really its an issue on all vehicles as old as ours are. Usually the pins/hinge wears out. I haven't looked at my car to see if they are pins but if they are, you usually put an oversize bushing in and a new pin or that's what happens to my Camaro's doors since they are heavy. Hope that helps some.

I understand. I have used a floor jack under the door to actually bend the hinge a tad to keep them from dragging but prefer not to do that unless it is a last resort. You open the door just a tad, then jack it up out on the jam side (for the most leverage) and it will bend the hinge....but that is just in bad situations where I can't fix them correctly.

I used to get that problem constantly on my old eclipse, and occasionally on my Tsi. It tends to happen after I jack the car up from the jacking point. I used to think it was the door, and after screwing with my hinges countless times I realized it was definitely the fender moving slightly. I had to pop a rag covered screwdriver in the slot and push back to pop the fender out a little. The easiest way to tell is by looking at the gap where the door closes. If it's even all the way down, it's probably not the door. When I had a sagging door the gap by the door handle was narrower than at thr bottom, cuz the door was on an angle.

I'll have to figure it out because it wasn't doing this until I fixed the mounting point behind the headlight and now i'm back at square one trying to make it not bind.
