I got both new axles for my 97 GSX Eclipse from Orielly auto parts and the drivers side axle is all one piece. I told them it was the wrong one because there is suppose to be an axle that connects to a shaft that connects to the block. I laid the new axle beside the old axle and the shaft and they are the same length, did they invent something new or is this the wrong axle? Do you think it would work?

I am curious as to the answer to this question as well. I think that it should work as long as the one piece axle doesn't interfere with the transfercase throughout its full range of suspension movement. Let us know when you find out for sure. I have a broken half shaft bolt that I wont be able to fix until the motor comes out. This may be a temporary solution to get me by.

So if I run GSX axles on my GST, will it have less TQ steer?

OP- get an awd axle, you don't want to use a gst axle.

Yes, that's a somewhat common mod for fwd turbo guys, you'll need an awd tranny seal, intermediate shaft and awd driveshaft. It will reduce wheel hop and such.
