Well, the car is finally almost complete, but for my driver's side drive shaft, both boots are torn. So, it means I either replace the boots or replace the entire thing. But I was wonder, do any remanufactured drive shafts come with the intermediate shaft or do I have to get it off the old inner cv assembly?

Because, from the picture I see here : http://www.partsamerica.com/PartDet...e=CCT&MfrPartNumber=7927&PartType=945&PTSet=C it looks like it has thats inner cv joint+assembly for the intermediate shaft too, and I read in my Haynes manual that you need a special tool to take that off.

So my question is, if I buy a remanufactured drive shaft, does it come complete, or do I have to put my intermediate shaft on it?

Thanks

When I bought drive shafts it came ready to put into the tranny. And dont just replace the boot because if you got any grit at all in there you will were away your axle any way and have to replace them.

Go to Raxles website. The guy you contact is VERY VERY helpful. He will answer every question you have about the axles. He knows them pretty well. I delt with him when we were putting the AWD tranny in my FWD. I bought a rebuild kit from him and that was it, so I can't answer you question directly.

I was going to clean the joints as it is. I talked to the people at Advance Auto the other day and they said their replacement parts wouldn't come complete, and the reason why I posted this thread is because I looked online a while ago (at PartsAmerica) and saw a replacement that was complete.

I bought two new boots for the inner and the outter, and I'm just going to replace them to save me some cash after spending nearly $2000 on the thing so far.

EDIT: Oh, thank you all for your posts, I did check raxles before, but I wish they'd put price quotes on their website or at least averages.

But just a quick little question to save me from another thread. As mentioned above, I've been rebuilding this car, and after I connected the alternator, I noticed a weird plug-like connector that is with the same set of wires as the alternator (Sorry, I can't take a picture because I am not sure where my digital camera is) ... but after looking around in the alternator region and the oil filter bracket, I'm still not sure where it goes.
