I just installed a 3 in downpipe and that bracket that goes on the front of the motor will not fit around the exhaust. The bracket that I am talking about is the one that holds the exhaust in place so it doesn't pull around on the manifold. The kit that I purchased did not come with a larger bracket to fit the new downpipe. It this bracket necessary with the new downpipe and catback exhaust? Thanks in advance for the help.

The reason for the bracket is to take some of the weight from the turbo off of the manifold. You need to put one on somehow. Try taking a big hose clamp and clamping the old bracket to the exhaust. Unless you have a welder or know someone who does this is a quick temporary fix. You really need to weld a bracket to the pipe that will allow you to bolt it on. Travis

no the o2 housing is still stock. The downpipe I purchased bolted right up to that. I know that 02 housing is restrictive but that is for another day. Especially since the turbo needs to come out to remove o2 housing. But back to the downpipe. The clamp that held that stock downpipe in place does not fit the 3 in downpipe that I just put in it. Common sense would tell me that I need this clamp, but the exhaust that I put on is superlite compared the the stock exhaust. Any ideas? I think my question has already been answered though. Thank you.

Correct, it's used to take stress off the the exhaust manifold bolts. I'm not extreamly worried about it, the Downpipe hanger hold most of the weight of the downpipe near the rear 02 sensor. I personaly don't use the bracket. If I had a supper expensive turbo setup I would...

Ahh I see, so you are saying that you have a 3 in downpipe and you are not using that clamp that goes around the exhaust right under the 02 housing. I might just put the old clamp back on and put a hose clamp around the whole deal. I thought that clamp kept the exhaust from pulling the manifold off when the motor moves.

:dsm: If you are really concerned with it make something work if your not than who cares. Make it so you dont have to worry if something is going to have a problem.
