door will not unlock

Ok so when I lock my car I can't unlock it from the drivers side. I have to goto the passengers side and unlock it there. Any ideas on what's wrong?

get could be a bad piece between the key lock and the door clasp. youll have to get in side the door to see whats wrong

Be more specific. Does the cylinder turn? How did you lock it in the first place? Did you use a keyless at all?

I lock it before i get out of the car. I dont have keyless entry I have to use the key on the passenger door which unlocks both doors.

Sorry to bring this back up but it seems I'm having the same trouble.

I cannot unlock my driver door with the key. It turns freely left and right, but doesn't unlock. Before, it had a bit of resistance. I can lock it fine from the switch on the inside and can easily unlock the passenger door with the key, but it sets off the alarm when the doors are locked.

Also when locking the car with the switch, the thing that moves on the door with the red and indicates that the car is either locked or unlocked, takes a couple of pushes on the button to completely lock the driver side door. The passenger door easily locks on the first push.

Sorry I don't know what to call that thing

You need to get a new lock it shouldnt turn freely

With the key in but the linkage disconnected it will.

IceCold needs to open the inner door panel and start checking the linkage rods and their clips. He should be able to see if the arm came off the lock cylinder. That might require replacing the lock.
