door does not unlock

Ok so I just replaced my exterior door handle and when I locked it from the outside it still opens and when I lock it from the inside I am unable to unlock it from the outside I looked at the mechanism inside the door and not sure how it is suppose connect to the lock thing to make it work if someone could maybe post pics of how the rod that goes from the outside lock cylinder to the mechanical part thanks

Forgot to mention its a 96 eclipse rs and has manual locks

There are a total of 4 rods that need to be connected, two from the handle that you replaced and two from the inside handle.

Your rod that controls the key lock is off, it connects near the little screw that was hard to remove, close to the cylinder on the inside. If you look up from the inside you'll see it.

I double checked all the rods and they are connected its the mechanical thing I am guessing but that looks normal to

I had to do both of mine and it wasnt fun at all. Of course I did it with out a book or that nice FAQ I just saw above. I would say to remove it an print out that link an do it over again to double check you havent missed anything or installed it upside down. Its easy to do when you cant barely see what your doing.
