I've searched all through the forums, and found a lot of threads about door speakers, but none as simple as; can I simply pop out the grill to replace the speakers, or do I need to remove the entire door panel? I'm worried about not being able to get the door panel back on once I get it off, so I was hoping I could just pop out the speaker grill to replace it that way. Would that be possible? Or should I just attempt to remove the whole panel? It's got power locks and windows and I'm scared I'll break something, not be able to get it back on correctly, or screw up the wiring somehow. What should I do? Pop out the grill or remove the whole panel?

you have to pull the door panel off unfortunately i thought you would be able to do the same thing there is a screw on the handle where the lock is and one in the handle part right below it wear you can put like your cell phone or something once you take those out you can pull them out the part where the look is you have to pull the handle like your going to open the door to get the plastic piece off after you take both pieces out start at the bottom part and work your way around it you do it that way you cant mess up the locks and stuff its not to hard to do

Removeing the door pannel really easy actually, (I have the same stuff you have) just a screw driver and a few bolts and its off. The speaker cover I would not remove because you need to glue it back on and that sucks. The wireing and reassembly is simple. Don't rip stuff off, take your time and do it right the first time. I would disconnect the battery just to be safe.

Its really easy actually. After getting the panel free, just disconnect the plug on the switch panel. That would be the only hard part, mine was pretty stuck on there

Sometimes i thank god for manual windows LOL a few screws here pull the panel off and bam done not soo sure about the auto windows though but if anything brakes you could just go to a near buy junk and just replace it so no worries if you hear things popping.

I have mine off as we speak. It is really, really easy. Remove 6 screws: 2 at front of door, 2 at rear of door, one holding door handle cup in, and one in the handle to close the door. Pull to unsnap panel clips. Finally reach behind and disconnect switch panel by pressing tab in middle of connector. You're free! Installation is reverse of removal.

For people who have manual windows make sure you don't lose the clamp that holds it together iv done it numerous times :banghead:

I actually did this the other day. I couldn't get the damn window switch thing off, but I wouldn't have been able to rewire the speakers anyways without taking the dash apart (I don't think). I have speakers 2 speakers in the center thing (Pictured below) so I'm just using those two, and two in the back. If I get bored I might figure out what wires are currently to the door speakers, but as of right now, I finally got a stereo working consistently after having the car for like 3 weeks, and don't want to push it. They're good speakers so only 4, plus two subs work just fine. Thanks for the help everyone, I don't know what I'd have done if I never found this site. The people here have helped me with every problem I've had

Also, I know my interior is a little tacky, but I like it.

Lol, I am kind of a ricer :p I'm 17, I can't help it! Plus the previous owner did that. What I wanted to do with the speakers in the pic is give each seat it's own surround sound setting. That might not be the right word, but I'll try and make a diagram below. Sorry if it doesn't make sense, it's like 1 am >.<

Yeah i understand what you mean and mine sounds extremely well, i have the two in the dash two in the front doors two in the back and then cut holes for the two on the trunk thingy not sure wtf its called and then 2 12in subs, i made sure when i bought the speakers they were more vocal then bass this way all the bass came from the subs which sounds extremely balanced to me.

What do you mean the trunk thingy? I don't have anything in my hatch that I could put speakers into, but then again the previous owner may have taken some stuff out, because right now the "bottom" of my hatch is a thick piece of particle board cut into the hatch shape, and I have no idea what's under it, haha.

I have no clue how to describe it but its like this cardboard type of cut out that has two strings that are connected one either side of the trunk so it covers up your trunk this way people cant see directly whats in it and i have two holes cut for speakers.

Underneath that board of yours is your spare tire atleast i think it is the way your describing it.

new black carpet and stock seat belts would do wonders for your interior..

paperclips and super glue goes a long way when breaking things on you door panels..

So, you have two speakers up front for both front channels? The way that's laid out, the staging looks horrible. I guarantee you it'll sound better with the speakers in the stock locations.

Oh, I know what you mean, I just don't have that, haha. And there's no spare tire under that board :-\ I checked today, but couldn't get it all the way out. It just seems like the bottom of the car, and maybe he wanted to raise it when he had subs or something.

Mizak82: I appreciate the input, and have put seatbelts in the car (It only came with one racing harness, and 4 missing seatbelts, but kept the harness just because I like it. and the carpet needs some cleaning, but I like that too.

Dr. Funkenstein: The door speakers are in their stock locations, and right now they're not doing anything but taking up space, so I just have the 2 dash speakers and 2 rear speakers, along with 2 subs in the hatch, and it sounds fine to me, plus I like the look of the speakers in the dash

If i was you id take that ugly cardboard out of your dash and just go get the plastic pieces that are oem and just cut holes into them would look a lot better and probably sound better as well.
