Calgary,
So just bought my 2nd eclipse. It's a 97 GSX and having major problems with the locks. From inside I can push the lock button and the Passenger side locks and unlocks, but the driver side only unlocks. From the outside using my keyless entry I can lock the car, but only the passenger side locks, the driver side wont lock. I try using the key on the driver side and it will turn fine to unlock the car, but won't turn to lock it. I also cant manually push the door lock tab on the inside of the door to lock it. It's like it's stuck. So I took the door panel off, checked the connections and tried to manually slide the locking rod back and forth to lock and it still won't lock, after an hour playing around, hoping it would engage, I have given up. I know there's a bunch of door lock threads on here, but none I have found have the same problem or a solution to fix it. If anyone can help, it would be great. Thanks

My car has the same problem but I haven't really looked into it. Same EXACT problem tho. I would like to see some kinda solution to this.

Sounds like its just ceased get a big ass can of wd40 and spray the lock from the outside and inside of the panel.

thanks for the Advice. I thought that it would be more complicated than spraying some WD40 but sure enough after a few sprays on the driver side, the lock is working as it should again. The passenger door still wont open with the key, but the keyless and door lock button locks it just fine, which is all that really matters. Thanks again, and for someone having door lock problems, definately try some wd40 in the lock key, before taking off the door panel.
