My car was being worked on for a few months with the battery disconnected and when i got it back the security system(STOCK) wasnt working and the door lock/unlock button didnt work. I checked the fuse for security and door lock and they were fine. How can i fix this. Thanks:dsm:

The power door lock has a plastic clip that goes over the door lock. If the power door locks don't work at all, take your door panel off and check the plastic clip to see if it has current flowing to it.

Driver and passenger door wont unlock with the either button in the car, when i hit the button it makes a sound like it wants to unlock the doors but cant. Also the security (when you pop the hood with doors locked) doesn't work either. It seems like everything related to the security system inst working. Sorry about the bumping.

When I origionally got the car I was having issues with my keyless/passenger door. When I took things apart I found the connector thats supposed to sit on the end of the lock cylinder had fallen off. Once I pushed it back on, I have been good ever since. If it sounds like something is being actuated when you press the buttons, I'd also be checking linkages, etc while doing so, to see exactly what is moving & what isn't, to try & track down the issue.

Ok i took the door apart again and everything looked fine all the wires were connected. So after that i checked the fuses again and they still looked fine but i changed them anyway and when i did the doors locked as soon as i put the fuse in. But when i hit the button to unlock them it made the sound of unlocking the doors but didn't actually do it. So i tried to manually unlock it and it seemed like something was keeping the lock from moving.

Have you fixed this problem yet? The same exact thing is happening to me! When i put the fuse in, the door automatically unlocks. but when I press lock and unlock on the driver side, something is clicking but nothing is locking/unlocking

Oh man, I had this problem. You will be taking your door panels off many times. It's not fun.

The problem with mine was the power door lock motor. Seemed like over time it got dirty and just wasn't doing its full motion when activated. I cleaned it out as best I can, and while the door panel and everything is exposed, make sure everything is working properly, because you sure as hell don't want to keep taking and removing the door panel, and now the lock motor out.

you said the remote works when you press then button, meaning you hear the door lock motor, but it doesnt actually open it, and then the same when pressing it in the car, all the fuses you said are fine, which should be if you hear the motor to begin with. its obvious, investigate the power lock motor. make sure the linkages are installed properly as well

The same thing happened to me. Like the guy said above. I fixed it by cleaning and re-grease the gears on the motor. I had picks. If I found them Ill post them. (by tomorrow.)
Any way its very painfull to remove it.
