I spent today installing my aftermarket stereo equipment. After I was done I had this problem. I know what I did wrong, -I didn't disconnect the battery before I disconnected / reconnected the power windows / door lock harnesses from the switches in the front doors. So now I have no power to either window or the locks from the driver's side, and only the power lock is working on the passenger side.

I found this mod on the VFAQ but I'm not sure if it will help. I checked the fuse box under the drivers dash, and there's no fuse labeled power windows or locks. I checked the fuse box under the hood and the fuse that was labeled power windows there was still good. Is it bad relay(s)? I would have tried to do the above linked mod if it were still daylight here. Anybody ever do this mod before or have this problem before?

Good help will be rewarded with rep points.

Relay, if the fuse is good, its gotta be the other. If its good, I suppose can help trouble shoot it some more.

Trying to do the power window mod I linked above. I can't seem to get it to work. Am I using the wrong relay or is there another issue? Here's what my relay tray looks like, which is not really like the illustration on the VFAQ.

A) has 3 slots for fuses running horizontal, only top one is used with a 10A fuse
B) Empty
C) I'm guessing this is supposed to be the power window relay listed on the VFAQ page
D) small relay like the one in C
E) bigger relay

I tried grounding the wire that the VFAQ says the ECU grounds (on relay C), lots of juice -the sparks really flew, almost welded the wire to the bolt holding the seat to the floor which I touched the wire to in order to test the windows. So, now thinking this is a bad idea, I instead tried the "dirty" method of completely bypassing the relay by jumping the pins the VFAQ says are for the load bearing +12v and the windows. Absolutely nothing. Just to double check, I went back to the first method again and almost caught my carpet on fire again when I touched the wire to the bolt. So there was definitely power there, -am I just using the wrong relay or something?

edit: well, that first pic definitely didn't post correctly...
