Ok so this one has me stumped. I have a 97 spyder turbo. Now on the passenger side the door locks and passenger side window works perfectly. Also when the convertible top is put down all windows go down properly. So that all good. Now the bad. The drivers side switch panel is dead, completely dead. It will not put any windows up or down as well as lock or unlock any doors. I took the switch apart and tested it for continuity according to a troubleshooting diagram and the switch works perfectly. So it would seem to me that the switch isnt getting any power to it at all or isnt properly grounded to the vehicle. The ground is hooked up and works well. So what could be my problem? I checked to see if there was 12v making it to the switch and there was. Not sure what wire color that was but 12v none the less when the key was turned. It seems to me like a plug is loose somewhere and the only place i can think of is inside the driver side door jam where the wire loom go into the cabin from the door. What would be the best way to get at this connection to check it and what else could be causing my problem. Thanks a bunch guys!!!!

i would try getting a new switch. maybe the wires you aren't checking are toast? could be a multitude of things.

Im pretty confident the switch is good. The one touch circuitry shouldnt be the problem. Does anyone have any idea where to look next? I mean the drivers side switch is completely dead :/ I know the other day I was trying to put that window up while someone else was trying to put it down so it just stayed stopped. But it still worked fine after that. Hummm The window motor is grounded to the car door right? So if I jump power to the wire that makes the window go up then they should right? Anyone ever do this before?

I've raised a window on a Ford that way, but I haven't tried it on a DSM... From what it looks like on Directechs, you'll have to supply +12 to green/red and ground to green/black. I'd do some more testing before I tried any of that...

As for where to look next, if you're 100% certain that the switch is good, I'd check the wiring to and from the switch. Make sure that your wires are good to the door lock actuator, and the window motor... I'd also check the door boot wiring, where it leaves the door, and where it enters the body of the vehicle.
