So my car got broken into and now my power door locks dont work. WHen they broke in they just popped my passanger side door look into the door panel. I got a new relay and when i put it in is heated up, it wasnt hot but it was warm which makes me think that its constantly recieve power. If I press the lock button it clicks but if I press the unlock button it does nothing. Any Ideas? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the power door locks. Its a rs but i dont think there is a difference for power locks in models for door locks.

same thing happened to me. well not really. looks like my car was broken into before i owned it. (dented rear hatch) dents all next to the drivers side door handle. they popped in my rear hatch lock (fixed) and the previous owner put mismatched tumblers in the doors so i couldn't lock or unlock them. (also fixed now) but back to your problem.

when i first picked my car up the locks didn't work. so i checked the fuse box and i was missing the power lock fuse. put one in and it worked, but only for about a day. then when i would press the lock/unlock button something behind the driver side rear bench seat panel would click but my locks didn't open. so i took that panel off and found out that little black box on the left side of the big rectangular box was very very hot. so i took of both door panels and tired to figure out the problem. it was something i thought was very stupid. the white connector that connects to the power windows/locks switches was not pushed in all the way. so i pushed it in very firmly and WHA LA!!! my locks worked.....

hopefully its something silly like that :]

when you replaced the lock cylinder did you hook up the little connector to the back of the cylinder? it's a small little connector and may have fallen inside the door itself.

I think the switch behind your rear panel is behind my stereo on mine. Its the little tiny box like an inch wide? Ill look into the door panel wires. I know my fuse is fine i checked that. Thanks

I havent put the lock cylander in. I had the same problem with my hatch as steve so i want to put that lock cylander in my hatch so i can just use my remote to unlock the doors and i can use my key to open my hatch. Ill look to see if i have a loose wire in my door panel tho.

I bought a 95 Eagle Talon N/T about three months ago. I've already fixed some problems with the car electrically, mainly the radio/wiring that was all wrong. Anyhow the morons that had the car before me did something with all the locks. I have a key for the driver door, another one for the ignition, no lock cylinder in the passenger door at all and neither key works for the trunk! The power windows work great now, so does the radio, but the power locks don't. I replaced the fuse and it's good to go. The fuse isn't blowing when I push the power lock button. Every time I push the power lock button, I hear a clicking sound behind the radio where the relay is. Unplugged the relay and no more clicking sound.

Before I buy a new relay, is it likely that the relay is the problem? Or is it probably the actuators? Is there a way to test the relay? I took both door panels off and don't see any wiring issues. PLEASE HELP!

After further inspection it appears that the cylinder on the passenger side may be the problem. The actuator is not hooked up to the back of the cylinder and it looks as though the lock cylinder is just hanging there. Hopefully that's the problem! Please let me know if anyone has any more suggestions. Thanks!
