Doesn't my engine look a little abused?

!

That's it. :)

My wife tried to polish mine for me and all it did was highlight how messy it was. I've been wondering what to do with it. Now I know what to do with the extra caliper paint i have! :thumb:

Thanks for the idea.

if you can find some good high temp paint that matches the blue you have, no problem.

mine is only 500 deg farenheit. the only places it burns off are the screws that hold the exhaust manifold covers on, and i have some 1600 deg bbq i need to do for those.

for the letters on top just hit it with sandpaper and it comes out a nice silver.

Yup, I hit mine with grey engine primer and black caliper spray paint and it coats great.

However, after trying to sand down the lettering I've found that mine is apparently pitted quite badly as I have a lot of little black dots deep in the lettering. Guess I'll have to try using a power sander to get that crap out of the pits and smooth the surface down so it's level. Either that or use some aluminum colored paint and cover the lettering with that... .

I kinda wish I could go for more of a machined look on those letters but I'm way too cheap. ;)

Thanks again for the tip, man. It's already looking much better.

(shoulda done b4 & after pix)

Cheers! :thumb:
