Ok so i have had my car for abotu 2 months and its always been like this but seems ike it might be gettign worse. When i go into reverse it grinds prolly about 1 in 4 times and also it is having a hard time cathing in any gear. Doesn't sound like crankwalk to me anyone think it might be crankwalk or is this normal in 2g dsm's.

DSMs aren't known for their stout transmissions, unfortunately. After time, the synchronizers wear, which will cause notchiness and/or grinding, especially at low temperatures.

Many people recommend changing your transmission oil to Pennzoil Synchromesh. This can help out a lot of those types or problems.

As far as the reverse gear grinding, make sure you're stopped and that you wait a second after pushing in the clutch to shift, otherwise your transmission will still be moving while you try to shift into reverse, causing a grind.

Definately change the tranny fluid, syncromesh, synchroshift whatever floats your boat. As far as grinding, mine does it too but if you put it in second then take it out and try and put it into reverse it helps.
