If its "sputtering" or "fluttering", this noise IS compressor surge. Why don't people understand that, the BOV doesn't "flutter" and cause compressor surge. The flutter IS the sound of compressor surge.

Not always. My BOV was crushed and I used a MityVac to measure the release point. Since the crushing is pretty extensive, the sound of the BOV changed from a straight whoosh to a flutter on release. It sounds more like my friend's SSQV. I run pretty solid boost (25 psi) and if it was indeed surging, my turbo would have been trashed by now. The fact that I've run two turbos on this BOV for an extended period of time with zero shaft play on either one tells me that it's simply a sound change as a result of different airflow through the diaphragm and release valve.

Your mileage may vary.

I've had my dejon leak stopper set up up to 28 psi, but I don't know how you guys know its not leaking...if its leaking its leaking, and there isn't really any way to tell other than doing a leak test. My last leak test was limited due to a blown compressor housing o-ring (wonder how that happened ROFL ) and a leaky autometer boost gauge (stupid plastic). I went crazy with the teflon tape on the autometer boost gauge, but if anyone can find me a 1/8th npt FEMALE barb fitting, please pm me.

The blocker that came with the dejon leak stopper kit kinda worried me, because it seems like it could fall out easily and go through your engine. Its small enough that it probably wouldn't do damage, but thats not a risk I want to take. I put some tape that I cut to size over it.
