Do you take the timing blt off to change the crank pos. sensor?

Just what the title says. I have to change my crank position sensor and i was wondering if i have to take the timing belt off.

Any others tips for the job are welcome.

I have one, i just didnt get home to look at it yet.

I just bought this car a couple of days ago and dont know much about it yet. But believe me, ill learn.

You don't have to take the timing belt off, but you have to take off the crank pulley, accessory belts, the AC tensioner pulley, water pump pulleys, and the timing belt cover to get to the sensor.

Since this is much of the work needed to change the belt, if your about due for a change you might as well change it while you are down there. It won't take that much longer.

Just follow the write-ups for how to get to the timing belt to show you what all you need to remove to get to the sensor.
