chilliwack,
When replacing the engine ecm on a 1998 talon do you have to program the replacement (used) ecm with the vin# or any other info to get it to work in your car ,or do you just plug it in and it should work. thanks for any help.

I know your new and welcome to the site we are more than willing to help you out but please do some reaserch before you post questions on (here just for future refrance) and get a car manual if you do not allready have one. dsm tuners as well as vfaqs (good place to start) have allot of info that will help you out if you are starting out with modifing your dsm as well as maintaining it. but to answer you question no you do not have to program it or anything like that you might have to reset it by disconecting the negative on the battery but other than that there is no "programing" hope this helps
