Do smaller IC pipes help you reach boost faster?

It seems logical-less volume for the turbo to fill on the way to the thottle body. I realize this is not ideal for top end- where you want as much air flowing as possible. I'm runnig a small 16g turbo, do you think 2" pipes are too small for what the turbo can flow or will I be alright?

how about 2" to he intercooler and 2.5" to the throttle body? Any ill-effects?

In theory just right is the best. Too small is bad, and too big is bad too. If you have 2 inch openings on your intercooler than 2 inch is fine, for the most part you want to keep the openings of every thing identical so as not to produce any bottle necks. Keeping true to this ideal between 2 and 2.5 inch pipes will be fine for most cars without maft.

Why is an maft a factor in pipe size? You could splice an gm maf into any size pipe.
