My gsx died after a minute of idling. Brand new 6 bolt setup. I bought a rebuilt head off ebay, and my guess is they re use the valves. I have BC valvetrain and Brian Crower 272's, new eagle rods and 2g pistons, new block, etc.

It died and after pulling it apart, it seems a weak valve that the companies on ebay would consider re useable gave way under the extended valve train stress. This is after 1 minute of initial startup and idle.

Im pretty sad, but its time to go stroker. I never even ran this new setup :(

goodnight for a while, gsx

Damn thats a tragedy but i gotta give it to you your car is beautiful, not to repeat stuff but you get what you pay. Not to be mean but you deserve what you got for buying garbage for your nice ride. someone check exhaust parts maybe ok but cheap internal parts thats just well you get the picture.

Well, I know a guy who is selling a 1g rebuilt head no miles for 200 obo. It's on a local forum so prices are hooked up. Lmk if you need it.

It looks like the block is fine, no dings in the cylinder. as far as the head goes it would be easier/cheaper to use a different head, unless you have this one ported which it doesn't look like. But if it is then I would take it apart and take a die grinder and smooth out the dingsso theres no fracture lines, then have a engine shop put in a new seat and guide.

Also I think the valve dropped because it was bent before you bought it, (previous owner might have had a timing belt jump or something like that.

I have never heard of a valve JUST failing, theres always a reason. I can only think of 3 reasons that a valve would drop/break.

1. valve spring breaks or retainers break
2. bent valve from being hit by something
3. valve guides so worn that the valve doesn't slam squarely on the seat and fractures it/ this also has to do with having to much lash and solid lifter, where the valve is smacked so hard on the tip that the shaft actually fatigues from bending.
