Hey everyone i have a simple question. I have an apexi n1 catback and the muffler has blown out on the backside of the muffler. I am going to cut off the muffler and weld on a new n1 or hks carbon ti. What i was wondering was, when i cut that off and weld on the new one do i need to weld on the hanger that is on the muffler itself. I know the carbon ti exhausts dont have one on the muffler so i am thinking that i dont need to. Does anyone have any experience with this or know what is recommended to do.

i havent fixed mine yet either. its not as big as yours. Mine is only two fingers big or so but its still adding much more noise to the ride because the exhaust gas is coming out of the back and can be heard inside the car. I know the muffler wouldnt move as much but doesnt the hks carbon ti not even have a hanger on the muffler? Im just wondering if i can get the carbon ti and weld it on to my already existing pipe and call it good.

and my only problem is i dont think that you could or would want to weld on to the carbon mufflers. Wouldnt it ruin them?

well u will get vibrating feelings in the car, which will be the exhaust fumes coming out of the muffler if u want a smoother ride i would do it. i would want to have the smoothest ride possible. if it moves to much it might even rattle

that makes sense to me. How do the carbon ti exhausts do it then without rattle or movement

nevermind i just saw that they have a band that goes around the body of the muffler and then goes into the hanger. So now my questions is. Are the ebay knock off mufflers alright? Im short on cash and have to pass emissions and they dont allow holes in the muffler anywhere. I was gonna get one of the ebay carbon mufflers and weld it on. Will this be ok and not cost me tons of power. I mean a pipe is a pipe so as long as it is a 3 inch inlet and 4 inch outlet there shouldnt be a problem right?

yeah you should be fine, i have the apexi n1 on my car now, no problems yet..

But i've heard nothing but good things about the hks carbone ti. I kind of want to sell my apexi n1 for the carbon ti. help me pull off the panda theme.
