I am attempting to replace the cam angle sensor on my 95 Talon esi. I see that there are a couple of bolts on the side, but do i need to remove the valve cover to do the replacement. :talon:

you would be able to gain more access to the cams by taking off the valve cover. since the CAS is on the side of the motor...im not sure if it is nessessary. you cant hurt anything by taking it off though.. good luck man.

His is an N/T. If I remember correctly, there are a couple of bolts under the cover that have to come out. And I know what a PITA those valve cover bolts are.

Thanks a lot for the fast replies. I have yet to remove my valve cover. Is there a gasket that I could damage by removing the cover?

If you are going to remove the valve cover you may as well go ahead and replace the gasket, you don't want to put everything back together and start the car to find that the old gasket is leaking now. Also be very careful when tightening the valve cover down, you want to tighten the bolts from the inside to the oustide(hand tighten till snug and then a 1/4 to 1/2 turn, retighten after you drive it once). That's how I do it, good luck hope I helped. :laser:
