Do i need oil restrictors for a different turbo?

I bought a knock off t3/t4 hybrid for CHEAAAAP and brand new! i was wondering what i should do as far as the oil feed, do i need a oil restrictor? also could i run the new feed line from the same place the t25 feed line comes from? Thanks!

If its ball bearing im pretty sure you do need a restrictor bolt.

I would check for correct oil pressure and if it is not a ball bearing you could run from ofh with restrictor

One is supposed to refer to the manufacturer of the turbos recommendations. Too bad you cant do that with a knockoff......

Ball bearing and journal bearings will need different pressures.

yes you can continue to run your oil feed line from the oil filter housing, extremepsi sells a stainless steel braided line if it will fit your turbo. but i would be careful running a knockoff. I ran a ebay big 16g and it lasted all of 1000 miles or so before it started blowing oil by the seals.

Most likley because of higher than normal MHI turbo oil pressure from the OFH. 42-48psi max pressure at the inlet for MHI cartridges.

or it could be just for poor manufacturing that we have seen with these turbos.

yea i had no restrictor in that old ebay 16g so that is prob why it went out so fast. but my mhi 18 has one built in. pulls pretty hard for an 18g, up to 20psi now, just bought some bigger injectors to look for a little more boost.
